Feb 10 - Walrus Baby!

Feb 10 - Walrus Baby!

Guitar Hero World Tour has been obtained in the household - we're getting practiced up for a trip we're taking soon and we need to be ready.

Drums are hard, vocals are awkward, but the guitar is fun.

But what's more fun is watching Holly stuff the drum sticks in her mouth and pretend that she's a walrus while I figure out certain game features on my laptop.  Good fun!

I'm not really certain what's up with my blog feeds these days - I noticed that my post from yesterday didn't show up in Google Reader until late this evening, and I never did see the twitter and facebook posts go out, so I'll keep an eye on Twitterfeed.

The post yesterday was an issue we were having with some Windows 7 clients.  We would see issues when copying from one DFS share to another (or the same DFS share), and upon rebooting the computer we'd get that message.

It turns out that disabling that service would make the problem go away.  However, Symantec Endpoint Protection depends on that service to operate, so it's a bit difficult to disable that service and still protect your computer.

So we're holding off any further deployments until we can get this issue sorted out.  It seems that the issue is likely within SEP and VirtualPC (which we install to bring along some legacy applications), but some further troubleshooting is required.

Tomorrow is Friday, and it couldn't come a day sooner.  Steve is away, which always means the day goes by quickly.
