Feb 13 - Miscellaneous

Well, the weekend is over, for what it was worth.  I dunno, something about this weekend was just "off".  It's really hard to put my finger on …  maybe it was the phase of the moon or the change in weather or something, but it wasn't a great weekend.  There's a small part of me that is looking forward to Monday so I can return to a bit of a routine, but even then I know Monday isn't going to be all cut out the way it's supposed to be, with a housesit visit and a chiro appointment, I'm bound to spend more time driving around in the car then I will spend with my family.  Go figure.

Saturday was allright - Holly and I had a nice run (meaning I had a nice run, and Holly finished a run…), but we had a nap in the afternoon which was full of weird "you're too hot" kind of dreams.  Last night my dreams were filled with scenes from Harry Potter (which we had watched prior to going to bed).  Nothing in particular; just scenes from The Order of the Phoenix.

Today's run was a miss.  We set out to do 20km, but the route I had chosen wasn't familiar to most people, and when we got going, we found that the rain and ice from the night before made most of the route treacherous.  The fast group took off and we lost sight of them pretty early on, and about 5k in Danie fell on the ice.  Not hard, mind you…  she had a bit of a bruise on her knee, but it was enough of a warning that we decided to call it after about 6k.  Back to the parking lot we go, and in the end we only fit in about 6.8k, but even that took us over an hour to do.

I'm all for getting training runs in, but there comes a point where you have to say enough is enough and call it -it's not worth breaking limbs over.

The kids were off today too - listening was not a strong suit for either of them, and it was evident that they didn't nap all that well.  Bed time was one of the most wonderful times of the night.

Tomorrow won't be a heck of a lot better, but at least I don't have anything pressing scheduled, which leaves me a lot of time to take care of a botched Dell order and get things scheduled for the rest of the upgrades.

So..  Today's photo.  Holly had the great idea that she would launch pieces of pork that we were having for dinner on her fork, catapult style.  This meant that both kids had to try it as well!  Riley had it sort of down: He'd get food on the handle-end of the fork, and generally be able to hit the tongs and get a launch.  Lukah didn't quite get the connection between hitting one side and having the food launch off the other: he just picked up food by the handle end of his fork and threw it.

MTFBWY - see you tomorrow.
