While our hosts were off to mass this morning, we took off to Scribble n' splatter to meet up with Kelly, a friend who I worked with several years ago. She'd just had her baby the other day, so we had to postpone our plans to meet earlier. A short facebook chat this morning, and we had our days plans in the bag!
Getting there wasn't a big deal, thankfully… we made a brief stop at the local Wal-Mart to pick up some DVDs and such, and other than a really bad california lane change, the rest of the trip was uneventful.
Kelly's son and our boys all had a lot of fun painting and crafting and all sorts of stuff there. I expected to stay there for an hour or two, but it turned into 3+ hours. The picture is her son, Lukah and Riley all creating their masterpieces that will ensure my comfortable living conditions long after I retire ;-)
It was really great to catch up with her. It's not like we had any sort of involved relationship, but it's really neat to see how two lives can kind of split up, take their own paths for a few years, and converge again briefly and be able to catch up almost like nothing had happened. Except the addition of 4 children and relocating across the country. Anyhow…
All things aside, we're off to see more stuff tomorrow with the whole fleet in tow, so there should be loads of fun to be had.
