We've been more or less glued to an IP terminal in some form or another, learning about the quake in Japan. It started this morning when I was talking to Heather, and later in the day we listened to 630 CHED radio to hear what was going on, and finished the day off watching CNN on Justin.TV. For Holly and I, it's the same news over and over just repeated by different broadcasters, but it's riveting for the kids who haven't seen any disaster like this before.
There are hundreds of way you can help, but please keep an eye out for scams - they crop up at times like this.
Unrelated - I bought a new backpack to carry my laptop… my Dell one is starting to shred and the zippers aren't staying closed anymore, so it was time to replace it. It had to be a backpack for the summer months, of course! We also dropped a good chunk of coin at Costco, enough to fill up the trunk of the car. Darn you paper products!
