Oh, and a happy pancake Tuesday!
Oh, and a big shout-out to Carolyn who bailed my stupid ass out.
Today's picture - this was on the LRT coming up from Century Park this afternoon. I thought it was funny, but would have been a bit funnier if the posters were reversed. I almost did that myself, but figured that it wasn't really my place to do so.
Getting to the LRT this afternoon was a bit of an ordeal. I used to wait for the 74 outside of work, until it didn't come for over an hour one day. I contacted the city, and they told me that it doesn't run on that route until 4 PM - but I generally leave around 3 PM. So, I head up to a major street and wait for the 30.
This afternoon, I left work a few minutes early with the intention of getting some groceries at Superstore. When I got into Superstore, I realized how long the lines were and that I would miss my bus, so I left.
As I was heading to the bus stop for the 30, the 74 passed me and came to a stop a bit down the road. So I ran towards it, but it took off just as I got to the stop.. Jerk. Planning on the contingency plan at this point, I crossed the street to wait for the 30… and 2 busses, both saying "Not in service" flew on by.
So now I get to wait for 10 minutes for the next 30 to come on by, and I come to the conclusion that I could have gotten my shopping done at Superstore if I wanted, but couldn't.
Oh well.
All that means is that I have a good reason to get out for a run with Holly! Hooray! Who doesn't like a nice afternoon run with your spouse and kids?
I normally do, until I got dumb and left my keys in the trunk of the car (which were strategically placed there while I got the stroller out). A quick "NO!" followed by some cursing, we realized that we were completely locked out of the car and the house.
Thankfully (I guess?) we had asked our friend Carolyn to watch the house while we were away last week, and she still had a house key… and she lives nearby! We got our run in up to Save-On, met her there, got the key back for the house, got in the house and got the second set of keys for the car, got my keys and gloves (brr, it was a chilly run) out of the trunk of the car..
And here we are.
